One-on-One Sessions
Hi Tanaz, Thank you very much for the one-on-one sessions I have recently had with you. As you know, I tore a meniscus in my knee which pretty much made all the exercise I was accustomed to doing previously almost impossible. I was very disappointed to not be able to partake in my usual yoga routine as unfortunately anything that involved kneeling or stress on that knee was not possible. I have had to completely rethink what I do for exercise and stress management. Your sessions have been incredibly beneficial. I am quite sure that the exercises you have done with me to help strengthen the supporting muscles have played a huge part in reducing the inflammation around the injury. As I mentioned to you, I have done one-on-one sessions previously with a personal trainer and have often ended up feeling so sore that I really couldn't be sure it was beneficial. Your sessions were incredibly gentle but hard work at the same time! I felt that the factors that made a crucial difference in your sessions, were relaxing and breathing in between exercises, and also using the band to help me identify the muscles I needed to target for the exercise. I was always amazed at how light my body felt after the sessions. I would highly recommend these sessions to anyone who needs individual programs to assist with injury recovery or anyone at all who wants to ensure they are getting the most benefit out of an exercise program. Thank you very much, Tanaz, I am very grateful to have been able to do this with you.

Lower Back Pain
Before my sessions with Tanaz, I had on going lower back and neck pain, ranging from discomfort to intense pain with spasms , and because of my job being physical as well as admin it was making life difficult for me
My 4 sessions were great as after a thorough assessment , Tanaz showed me lots of different exercises and stretching exercises that will help with the areas of concern.
During each session she explained how everything works and gave me an understanding of why I have the issues in areas .
The conclusion of the 4 sessions has given me daily exercises and stretching exercises that I am doing and I am already feeling better and especially my neck, its been great and I will keep up what I have learnt.

Mobility Issues
I have recently had 4 one on one restorative yoga sessions with Tanaz. Tanaz took the time to assess how my body was working and what was working well and not so well. She devised a group of exercises to improve my strength, particularly on my right side. I have a problem with pain and mobility in my right shoulder and we did some work with the resistance bands. After a session I found my mobility and range of motion had increased and with significantly less pain. Additionally, I had an ankle injury which Tanaz helped to strengthen with targeted exercises. I have found it very helpful to have one in one sessions because the exercises were able to help me specifically. I certainly noticed a difference from the start of the session to the end of the session in terms of flexibility and range of movement. The exercises were challenging but easy to follow and I have been able to do some at home. It has helped me to focus on what my body feels like and what I need to work on.

Yoga for Endometriosis
The past few weeks I have been seeing Tanaz for exercises and stretches for my left knee and pelvic (endometriosis) issues.
When these sessions began I wasn't sure of what to expect in terms of mobility or improvement. Within a few short weeks I can definitely say that my knee (even though it is troublesome) has got a bit more stability and flexibility. My endo flare ups have been more manageable through pelvic tilt exercises and breathing through the pain (although this still needs more practice as it's not the easiest thing to do).
As far as my left knee goes, when the sessions began I was extremely hesitant to push myself as I have always given my knee more rest than it requires. This has negatively impacted the strength my leg has and I had not realised just how severe the deterioration had become until I began these sessions. Over the weeks we have pushed my knee more and more. At times it would be too much and I could feel my kneecap clicking out of place, at other times we would be able to push it further. Just in a few short weeks I can confidently state that my leg and knee muscles are getting stronger and more mobile and flexible. There is still a VERY long way to go but during these sessions I felt that my leg could balance my weight for the first time in a very long time. Slow and steady for sure but that was a vast improvement in a short period of time.
When I have my endometriosis flare ups and I am in pain, I automatically curl up into a fetal position and refuse to move. Working with Tanaz over these few weeks she has provided me with some exercises and techniques to practice. One of these was the pelvic tilts. This has provided me with some added flexibility and movement to a very tight pelvic region. Practicing the pelivc tilts regularly I feel have benefitted me greatly. My recent flare up wasn't as severe as they usually are and the only thing that has changed between flare ups was me practicing the pelvic tilts. Breathing through the pain is not an easy task to do (especially when you're curled up in a fetal position refusing to move a muscle in case it triggers more pain). This is still a technique I need to continue to work on.
If you had told me a few weeks ago that you could provide me with some exercises or techniques that would assist me in having a body that would work with me, rather than against me, I would have laughed in your face and carried on walking. However, after just a few short weeks I can notice a difference in my body and the way it responds. When I am walking for long distances, I no longer feel like my knee is about to buckle. When I have an endo flare up, the pain isn't as severe and debilitating as long as I remember to breathe and create some movement in my body.
These may seem like small insignificant changes, but to me they are huge. They have provided me with some harmony, in an otherwise chaotic body.
Even though these sessions have ended, I will surely continue with the exercises that I have practiced and approach Tanaz for further assistance to continue with this new found harmony within.
